The Fabulous Eight!

It was an absolutely beautiful evening for our first 30 minute team training. The moon was out, the weather was cool, and not a drop of rain! And we were all lit up like Christmas trees with head lamps and flashing red lights so no would miss us! We had eight enthusiastic spirits that were able to come to practice.

A special shout out to Jeannie McLam for showing up and not knowing a soul. A BIG thanks to: (Pictured left to right)

Every week I will list our training schedule: Week One

Friday: Rest -- for those of you that missed Thursday practice get out and get 30 minutes in! It does a body good.
Saturday: 40 minutes
Sunday: 30 minutes
Monday: Rest
Tuesday: 30 minutes
Wednesday: 30 minutes
Thursday: Team practice -- 30 minutes

Team practice is not mandatory, yet I cannot express how much more fun it is when you show up. And it helps keep you motivated during the week! Plus a bowl of soup and some healthy snacks will be involved. This week's split pea soup recipe I found on one of our team members Tracy Anderson's websites www.everydayyouth.com. It was excellent and very easy to make!

As of tonight we have 23 people that have expressed interest in doing the run. And several more who would like to help in other ways. Way to start out strong!

We also have three satellite runners too! Thanks to Sarah Dahl from Kelso, Washington, Brian Rein who is in Pennsylvania for two months and will join us when he returns, and to Carol MacLean (Rod's mom) who is in Springfield, VA. They are all fundraising and training without all the inspiration of a group! Big cheers to all of them!

Our next practice on January 12th will start at 6:30pm, if you missed this week, please come at 6:00pm so we can get you up to speed on paperwork and what was discussed.

Please share the BEADS for Education Team Training with your friends and family. The more people the merrier - - and the more we will raise for such a good cause!

    1. Lindsey,
Looking forward to whenever you can join us!
I'm working on getting the registrations in for race day, are you planning on doing the Half Marathon or the 10K? I will reserve you spot when I find out. Also, we ask for the first $100 of the $300 to be raised, to be put in when we register!
